“Then followed that beautiful season… Summer….
Filled was the air with a dreamy and magical light; and the landscape
Lay as if new created in all the freshness of childhood.”
~Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
Summer is here in Japan and it won’t be too long before the Bon Odori drums are banging and our local festival transforms the little park up the road to a sea of shimmering lanterns and light. It’s a time we adore and get all nostalgic about and of course go a bit nuts on the matsuri food. I mean how could you not? Yes, soy-sauce bbq’d corn. We are fans. Before we get to the heart of summer we’re still firmly revisiting spring with all the sessions still left to feature (currently scheduled for way into fall). So today in an ode to summer we share a beautifully blossomy one, with the sweetest family and a Yukata way too big…just perfect to fill the memories now and all those to come. This was our last session of the day, a mixed bag of lighting and contrast. With smiles galore. Just the way we like it.
