Stunning park with so many options in the heart of Tokyo. Beautiful bridges, waterfalls, quiet paths. Celebrate Spring with a glorious fresh green pallette.

New for 2018! May 20, Sunday – Tsumago on the NAKASENDO Way – Old Post Town, Kiso Valley Nagano

Take a weekend trip away to a truly extraordinary off-the-beaten track location. So very Japan, it’s spellbinding. Explore a restored and preserved Edo-period way station on the old Nakasendo highway in the Kiso Valley. Featuring feudal-era wooden and plaster buildings, inns and hot springs. It’s like stepping into history. The main street is closed to cars with several dozen old houses (& as much as possible the power lines are hidden). It’s a world away and a quintessential chapter to anyone’s Japan story. Combine it with a stay in one of the local Ryokans for an only-in-Japan experience. More info on the area can be found HERE.

New for 2018! June 2, Saturday – SHINJUKU

There’s nothing more Tokyo than strolling the Shinjuku streets amid the crowds and urban chaos that is Japan. Think Kabukicho, people, subways & GODZILLA!!! The perfect place to tell your story in the city.

New for 2018! June 24, Saturday – KOISHIKAWA KORAKUEN

A truly exquisite Japanese Garden tucked away in Tokyo. It is one of Tokyo’s oldest and best Japanese gardens, built in the early Edo Period (1600-1867) at the Tokyo residence of the Mito branch of the ruling Tokugawa family. It features stunning bridges (red and of course the iconic Moon Bridge). So many quite paths to explore & the beautifully replicated Japanese scenery. Not far from Tokyo Dome, but a world away.

July 1, Sunday – ODAIBA

Join us on the beach to celebrate summer. Right in Tokyo, we’ll take in the skyline, Rainbow Bridge, explore the foreshore and endless entertainment that is Odaiba. Built incredibly on reclaimed land right on Tokyo Bay. The very perfect way to document all things “Natsu”.

New for 2018! August 4, Saturday – TSUKIJI HONGANJI NORYO BON ODORI

Join us for a traditionally Japanese local summer festival as we all absolutely join in the chaos and madness. In iconic Tsukiji, just near the fish market. Think yukatas, fans, and summer dancing & taiko,  festival food and games. It’s how Japan celebrates summers and a truly local experience to soak in.

September 30, Sunday – SHIMODA

Take a weekend trip away to beautiful Shimoda on the southeast of Izu peninsula. The crowds are gone and the light is truly beautiful at this time of year. You’ll have the beach to yourself and shoreline to explore. A world away from the hustle and bustle, sink your toes in the sand and inhale the sea air. And…relax.

October 6, Saturday – SHIBUYA CROSSING (am)

The chaos & endless energy of iconic Shibuya Crossing beckons…again. It’s THE ONE location every wants & needs. So we’re heading back! Book in early for the best light & less crowds and make some memories on the scramble.

November 18, Sunday – LAKE KAWAGUCHI (one of the Fuji 5 Lakes)

This beautiful location should be in the peak of Fall Colors and the Momiji Festival ON!! Make a weekend of it and stay Lakeside combined with a session celebrating Autumn in all it’s stunning glory. We’ll photograph under the leaves, as well as the nearby shore. There is the chance for a Mt Fuji backdrop if the weather is cooperative (but of course cannot be guaranteed). The maple leaves are lit-up at night as an added bonus if you do stay. 1.5 hours drive from Tokyo & a magical chapter in any Japan story.

New for 2018!  November 25, Sunday – IKEDAYAMA KOEN

A secret little park tucked away near Meguro with absolutely glorious fall colors. It’s so quiet & tranquil featuring lush greenery & flowers, plus a fish pond & elevated terrain with views. Beautiful maple trees in the Fall.

December 2, Sunday – TOKYO MIDTOWN

This is one of our favorite Tokyo Fall location by far. The colors are spectacular and there’s never too many people about. If you want Tokyo fall colors, this is the mini session to book.  This is also the last session for holiday-ready images. (Please note – the images from this mini session will be ready by December 20.)

2018 Mini-Session FAQ

About 37 Frames Mini Sessions…

Mini-Sessions are a slice of life. As it is now. These sessions are designed to celebrate the seasons naturally & emotionally, casually & informally. We do not work from a shot list for these types of sessions. We have about 20 mins of shooting time (5mins to meet & discuss, 5 mins to wrap-up), which doesn’t really lend itself to a more formal kind of portraiture, straight to camera (which honestly is not our style).

Mini-Session Inclusions:

* 30 minute session x 3 (or 4, for our Four Seasons Collection)
* 2 photographers: Trace + Dee and/or a 37 Frames Associate Photographer
* 5 high resolution jpeg files to share as you wish (no prints)
* Delivery via email
* Sneak Peek Slideshow of the session (the web-sized file)
* Basic touch-ups
* Private + Password protected online gallery for 5 days
* Upgrade + Custom products available

Investment ¥100,000

Session Details:

About 2 weeks prior to the session we will be in touch to confirm the session time. We will then send a PDF with all the relevant session details including access, advice on what to wear and other relevant details.

As the mini-sessions are a heavily discounted service we try to minimize the amount of correspondence, but of course for any urgent concerns contact us anytime.

Mini-Sessions are for a maximum of 5 people. If you have more than 5 in your group/familiy please do contact us to discuss.

Sessions may be shared between family & friends.

In case of rain we will contact you on the day of our session to discuss our options. In case of light rain we will definitely go ahead. Bring your umbrellas for some magic photo fun! Heavy rain will be problematic and again if that is the case we will be sure to contact you.

In case something comes up and you cannot make it please advise us as soon as possible either by email or phone. If you are late on the day, are lost or having trouble finding us please call us. Please keep in mind due to our schedule we may be unable to extend your session beyond the appointed time.

Timeline:

Within 2-3 weeks of your sessions a sneak peek will be emailed (in our peak seasons of Spring/Fall this may be slightly longer).

Then the gallery details will be forwarded. You will have a private, password protected gallery to choose your photos from. We will notify you of the log-in procedures and password etc by email.

The images in your gallery will have a light edit. After selection of images the Collection will be checked and if needed further edited and prepared for delivery.

Due to the heavily discounted nature of these sessions clients are asked to please choose the 5 photos within 1 week. After which extension fees will apply (¥1000 per day or ¥5000 per each additional week).

If you would like more than 5 images/your current collection we are happy to accommodate this.

Major Digital enhancements, including for example removing of people, swapping heads or people in shots, hair coloring etc are not included and considered major digital work (pricing for this starts at ¥7500 per hour). Thanks for your understanding.

Are RAW files available? No, we never include raw files in our collections. Clients book us for a reason for our style, experience and way of storytelling and the final edit is a large part of that process.

What should we wear? In your Session PDF emailed about 2 weeks prior to the session we will make some suggestions on what to wear/bring and how to prepare for the session. We generally recommend to come comfortable and wear what is a true reflection of you and your loved ones. Don’t over think it!

Again for any questions, inquiries please contact us at dee@37framesphotography.com

We cannot wait to be part of your story in 2018!

Warmly,
